A comprehensive linear constant-current, constant-voltage charger for single-cell lithium-ion batteries is the TP4056 IC. It is packaged in SOP. Additionally, the TP4056 is well suited for portable applications because to its low external component count. The TP4056 may also be used with a wall adapter and a USB.
Due to the internal PMOSFET construction and to prevent a negative charge current circuit, no blocking diode is necessary. Additionally, it incorporates a thermal feedback feature. In order to prevent the die from overheating during high power operation or high temperature, it controls the charge current. A single resistor can be used to externally programme the charge voltage. When the charging current reaches 1/100th of the specified current, the charge cycle is stopped.
